Four of Pentacles description
In the Four of Pentacles, you’re holding onto all of your coins as tightly as possible. You sit on a cold, hard bench, on a stage. It’s not very comfortable but as long as you don’t move an inch, you can hold everything down. Your expression is calm, a sign of complacency and acceptance of the current situation. The buildings in the background represent the security you seek. You wear a solid crown, the respect that you’ve earned through your achievements adorning your head (ego).
Upright meaning
This is the card of the miser. You’re holding on to what you’ve earned and what you’ve accomplished. And for good reason! The unknown is scary, best to hang on to the familiar. Ask yourself what you are holding on to? Why are you afraid to let go? To open yourself up to new energy, you have to release the old energy. Let go of patterns and ways of thinking that are weighing you down. Be open to change. Take some risks! This is a good time invest in property. Afterall, nothing ventured, nothing earned.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, the Four of Pentacles is a sign to hold onto your savings. This is not the time to splurge, for you might have some unexpected expenses or delays in income. You could be tempted to overspend, going over budget. Or, you might be hoarding money or possessions in a way that is not healthy. While it’s good to have a safety net, you don’t want to be paralyzed by materialism. You might be in a period of growth but for some reason it doesn’t come with the satisfaction you were seeking. If your questioning your faith, remember why you started on this path in the first place. It might be time to walk away from a high paying job that is detrimental to your mental health. Check in with your relationship with money and income and do what is for your highest and best good.
