King of Pentacles description

The best dressed King in the deck, the King of Pentacles is bathed in abundance. His attention is fixed to the pentacle on his knee, is energy income, his wealth. His castle is off in the background, separated by a partition. His family and home is not the focus here. The bull on his throne reminds us that pentacles are the element of earth. His crown is decorated with lilies and laurel because he has a sensory awareness and he is at peace with himself. He has a bit of a smug, matter of fact expression. The armoured foot peeking out is a warning that he will protect himself from getting too emotional. This foot rests on a ram’s head because he will dig in and put his foot down whenever he is challenged.

Upright meaning

The King of Pentacles ia a good leader because he’s (or she’s) an excellent problem solver. This card is a sign that you are well grounded and financially stable. You can afford nice comforts but you are generous with your time when it comes to helping others. This card often represents someone who provides guidance and wisdom especially in work and business. If this card appears you are attracting lots of wealth and you are turning your vision into a lucrative offering. You are implementing a strong, organized approach to meeting your goals and you are about to knock it out of the park! This is not a time to take any unnecessary risks. Stick to the plan, play it safe, see it through.

Reversed meaning

In reverse, this King brings a warning that you or the person of your inquiry is giving into their weaknesses or their priorities are unaligned with your own. They are very attached to money and material things. They are investing in status symbols and spending all of their thinking about money, their job, business, stock market, etc. They could be jumping into high risk investment opportunities, or overinvesting their wealth in areas that will not benefit them in the long term. On the other hand, for someone who is typically way too rigid in their thinking, this card can be an invitation to let go and splurge a litte.
