The Hanged Man is all about perspective. When you hold the card right side up, he is upside down, tied around the ankle. The Hanged Man is associated with yoga, dance, gymnastics, etc. He is also a sign of a spiritual awakening, a new perspective, or a new idea that brings a sense of calm or inner peace. He can be associated with a meditation practice or any path that you are studying to reach enlightenment. When the Hanged Man appears, you might find yourself sacrificing your material needs in honor of following your spiritual beliefs or achieving your dreams. This could be a crossroads, and one new path is opening up, one that allows you to follow your true nature.

In reverse, the Hanged Man can be a sign that you are surviving instead of thriving. You’re just trying to hang in there, but your control of a situation has been compromised (temporarily).
